![]() It shows that at least you know the basics. And the headmaster wants the students to take a certification like this as well, even if in my opinion they arn't so usefull in job finding, but I admit that it looks good in a CV. It isn't an advanced exam, it's even simpler than the Autodesk Certified User certification for Inventor. PTC offers some kind of certification for Creo which requires some basic knowledge about 3D parametric modeling and it is a common practice in other schools that the students take it before graduation. I think it is more than great for educational purposes (we will use it for creating 3D printable or CNC millable models).īut here comes a small problem. I had some experience with it previously and I'm very pleased with it. ![]() It is platform independent, completely open source, it runs well even on a low-end hardware, it has many built in features, it is easily extensible and it has a fairly simple, easy to learn user interface. This (and because I'm an open source enthusiast) is why I'd like to use an other software and my choice became FreeCAD. The main one is that it is only free for educational usage, but I want to teach them something they can use even after exiting the education system and the second big issue is that it requires a better hardware than the one we currently have in the classrooms. I work in the education system in Romania and from this year we want to teach 3D modeling in our school.Ĭurrently the software which is pushed by the country to use on the classes is Creo by the company PTC, but I have some major problems with it.
